The social enterprise aims to provide a unique environment for community engagement on a wide range of platforms, inspiring and empowering local people. The social enterprise is based in Argyll and Bute and works to regenerate the local area.
Breege has developed a programme of activities to appeal to the wide demographic of the area and encourage intergenerational pursuits that alleviate loneliness as well as creating a robust and inclusive community. The local area has an aging population and has several challenges including poor public transport and social service provision. The local primary school was closed in DATE and this has meant that young families are no longer moving into the Social Housing scheme. The area also lacks meeting a socialising community spaces. Breege wants to change this by encouraging young families to move into the area by creating a cultural and commercial Hub with job opportunities.
Breege has been accepted onto the 4th Round of LaunchMe and will use the programme to advance her business and obtain investment to enable her to acquire the Primary School building and renovate it into a thriving community space running Workshops, offering meeting and conference rooms, a performance space as well as a community café.
