Healthy Castlemilk was formed as an organisation by the people of Castlemilk in 1989. It arose from a recognised need within the community for a concerted voice to raise health inequalities which existed at that time.
Over the years, Healthy Castlemilk has been responsible for a variety of local health initiatives which have been recognised and adopted in other areas of the city. Its work in healthy eating, child accident prevention and safety has won acknowledgement from the World Health Organisation.
