Healthy Tuck Shops Project – Arbroath
Profile
Tayside Health for All provided funds for six schools to try to improve their tuck shops. Each school was provided with a fridge and a money grant to subsidise the purchase of healthier foods e.g. fresh milk, fresh fruit and alternative snack foods. The subsidy was to enable sales at an attractive price.
This project is continuing with further funding from Angus Health for All and the Education Department. 30 schools are now involved.
