The Coigach Community Trust successfully gathered the necessary funding to build a new community hall facility in the remote village of Achiltibuie. The building itself makes a great statement about the future hopes of the Coigach Trust for the rejuvenation of the local area, and the provision of services to local people. The building design is sympathetic to the natural environment, constructed of wood, slate and stone, and provides a range of facilities including a sports hall, a kitchen, a library and ICT facilities, exhibition spaces and a large multi-purpose meeting room. The challenge now is to ensure that the achievements can be sustained in the longer term use of the building.
