The Yusuf Youth Initative (YYI) was set up in 2004 by a group of young enthusiasts who are driven by the desire to work for their community and improve their society. The group, who have undertaken a number of community projects on a local and national scale, have recognised and highlighted key areas of development required within Scotland. The YYI aims to provide for the needs of the community albeit old, young, male or female. The main focus will be on the ethnic minorities of the younger generation. The aim, objective and purpose of the YYI is to set up a full time institution which will invest in members of the community and in doing so, cater for various areas of educational, social and economical development. Recognising their role as upright moral citizens of Scotland, this motivated group have taken the initiative to work for the affairs of the Scottish population.
