We are an independent organisation giving free advice and assistance on sustainable forest management to community groups, grazings committees and individuals in the northern highlands of Scotland.
Our operational area covers the whole of Caithness and Sutherland, and the coastal communities of Wester Ross.
We promote community management of woodlands by providing expertise, assisting with management plans and funding applications.
We promote new woodland creation, and restoration of existing woodlands, by providing community groups, common grazings and individuals with site surveys, costed proposals and assistance with funding applications.
We promote local utilisation of timber and woodchip through setting up pilot projects, organising demonstrations and finding funding for training.
