BDP is an independent community-led local rural partnership situated in the Buchan area of north-east Scotland. The partnership is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status. We help community groups and social enterprises with all aspects of the progression of economic, social and environment projects. We have a remit to link the community in to the Community Planning Process and we have been instrumental in helping communities develop an action plan for their areas using the process of Planning for Real(R) in order to make links with community planning partners that will lead to more informed local service delivery. . We are increasingly involved in helping community groups examine their progression into becoming social economy organisations. We have developed an online resource for communities (www.buchantoolbox.org) We have established successful networking between communities through regular Forums and our publication the Buchan Bulletin.
