The Uist Community Riding School is a thriving riding establishment based in Balivanich. Originally an Army Saddle Club, which started in the late 70s, the club has now been gifted to the community and has gone from strength to strength. We offer lessons, road rides, beach rides, picnic rides, all day hacks, child beginner lessons, adult beginner and intermediate lessons, jumping, dressage, leading rein hacks, stable management classes and are a base for flexible learning in horse management.
Our facilities, staff and horses have been able to provide a facility for special needs children on a weekly basis from various parts of the Uists and we have an active Riding for the Disabled unit for adults and children, we also cater for adults who are part of Opportunities for Training Towards Independence (OFFTI).
