Castlemilk Partnership – Glasgow
Profile
The Castlemilk Partnership was set up following the publication of The Scottish Office document 'New Life for Urban Scotland' which was published in 1988. 'New Life's' key proposal was the creation of four pilot Partnership initiatives to plan and co-ordinate the regeneration of four of Scotland's peripheral housing estates.
The overall aim of the Partnership is to create in Castlemilk a well functioning suburb where people wish to stay and bring up their families. It brings together the organisations working in and making decisions about Castlemilk with representatives of the local community to decide on the best way forward for the area.
