ILM Highland was set up in April 1994 as a charitable company by Ross & Cromarty District Council to carry out environmental improvement projects with long-term unemployed via an Intermediate Labour Market model. In 1997 the company became independent and now employs 37 people in six separate divisions at three centres across the Highlands & Islands, owns its own premises in Alness and has a turnover of £2 million.
