Local Development Group set up under Initiative at the Edge, covering the parish of Northmavine in Shetland. Development plan for Northmavine produced in May 2005, and several projects in the early stages, including a feasibility study on bringing the local hotel into community ownership as a central part of the tourism strategy for the area. Other projects include establishing a website to promote the area, an increase in appropriate social housing provision, and stimulating the growth of small business within the area, all with the intent of retaining and increasing the population in this beautiful but sparsely populated area.
