In 1984 Lung Ha's was the only professional theatre company in Scotland providing opportunities for adults with learning disabilities to become actively involved in the performing arts. In the past 19 years the Company has produced over 26 original stage productions, and has made its mark as one the most avant-garde Companies in Scottish Theatre.
Lung Ha's distinguishes itself not only by the quality of its work, which marries theatrical invention, technological creativity, and poetic writing, but also by the way the Company succeeds in challenging its audience while still being accessible to all.
The Company has a membership varying from 30 to 40 actors with a learning disabilities, rehearsing on a weekly basis towards the production of two or three plays a year.
