SEED (Social Economy enterprise Development) is one of the newest of a growing number of CDFI’s in Scotland. Established in Dec 2003 by Social Investment Scotland (SIS) in partnership with Community Enterprise Ltd (CEL), SEED operates within the 9 local authority areas of East /Central Scotland and the relationship between Community Enterprise and Social Investment Scotland is a close one. CEL operates the day to day management of SEED in a relationship with SIS which is similar to that between a branch office and the Head Office, CEL’s business development skills work on a local level works hand in glove with SIS’s Financial Management expertise.
