The Coalburn One Shop will provide a number of community facilities under one roof. It will feature facilities and services of interest to young people and others, such as an IT suite, internet cafe, activity groups as well as advice and employment services. The project aims to improve childcare provision by establishing a care commission registered place that will house childcare, after school and breakfast clubs for children to assist working or training-for-work parents. The centre will develop cultural tourism through the housing of an archive of local heritage for community use.
