MCDC's first project was the purchase of land and the creation of a petrol station. From these small beginnings, activities have expanded rapidly, and amongst the projects being actively looked at are:
• The construction of a marina
• The construction of a sawmill with adjoining workshops and craft units.
• Small, community controlled wind farms
• Provision of small factory units
• Provision of affordable housing
• Increased opportunities for employment, particularly for the young.
