The North Ronaldsay Trust is a company, limited by guarantee with charitable status. It was set up on 15th September 2000 and has a worldwide membership of 160. The stated objectives are '.....to preserve and restore the natural heritage of the island; to promote industry and commerce; to provide or promote the provision of housing; to generally help to improve the quality of life on the island by creating job opportunities and attracting people to the island either to live and work or as tourists.
In order to achieve these objectives the Trust has been actively engaged in fund-raising and promoting awareness of the island's needs.
