Penicuik Community Development Trust was set up in April 2005 to promote sustainable development on Penicuk. It is engaged in all aspects of community sustainability, especially looking at the development of the Townhall, also know as the Cowan Institute.
PCDT is one of several established social enterprises based in Penicuik, which include Penicuik Community Arts, Penicuik Community Cafe and the Penicuik Community Food Co-op
