• We are working in partnership with Fife Council, Fife Constabulary and other agencies to reduce anti-social/illegal motorcycling. A primary aim is to target persistent anti-social/illegal motorcyclists in the Fife area by offering a social solution to a social problem. • THE CLUB: • Provides a safe and lawful environment for people to use motorcycles. • Provides young people with a positive alternative to hanging around streets, engendering sense of personal achievement and place of belonging. • Provides access to training in conjunction with partners to develop skills in a safe, controlled environment. • Provides a positive alternative to drugs, alcohol and crime. • The activities of the Club facilitates interaction and communication within the family and between volunteer ‘buddy’ helpers and programme users. Access to the club provides possibility for the young people to articulate a positive, outgoing aspect of their personna when other avenues to excel are foreclcosed to them e.g. academic routes or skills requiring a level of dexterity, patience or long-term training not available to them. • LONG-TERM FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS: • Bring into being a dedicated building thus creating facilities for indoor motorcycle tracks. This will allow all weather use, provide a controlled and safe amenity for an all-hours bike track, create a place of interest for young people . This building is fundamental to the Club’s intention of: • Providing motorcycle maintenance and mechanical courses. • Extend the offenders programme and diversionary scheme. • Provide motorcycling skills training. • Provide schools’ extra-curriculum course. To work towards these being incorporated into the mainstream courses education curriculum. • To institute regular competitive races thus developing an enterprise of local job creation, also acting as a ‘honeypot’ to draw in competitors and followers from outside Fife to the benefit of established businesses. • To develop partnerships and joint initiatives with other extreme sports clubs ie indoor skateboarding; wall climbing; BMX ing; underground rifle range, outdoor activity/obstacle ranges.
