Teviot Wheels is a community transport service for individuals, community groups and social enterprises in Roxburghshire, Scottish Borders. We have two 7-seater people carriers (wheelchair accessible) available at low cost for self-drive hire, or with a volunteer driver. Individuals with special mobility needs can benefit from subsidised transport costs through the local authority''s social car scheme. We work in conjunction with our sister Wheels projects to provide an accessible community transport service across the whole of the Borders. Teviot Wheels was established in 2000 by Roxburgh Association of Voluntary Service (RAVS), a local charity and CVS providing services and development support to community groups and social enterprises in the Scottish Borders. Teviot Wheels is part of the direct delivery side of our organisation; we also provide serviced office accommodation and administrative support as part of our own social enterprise activity. Our professionally qualified staff are experienced in helping organisations to start-up and run efficiently and effectively. This includes both income-generating activities and grant funding; over the past 6 years, local organisations assisted by RAVS have been awarded grants totalling well over £1.6 million.
