The Salvation Army Furniture Re-Use Project – Perth

Profile

The Salvation operates a Furniture Re-Use scheme under the name forty:twenty Furniture Project which provides quality second hand furniture at affordable prices to all comers. We operate a free collection service in a 15 mile (approx) radius of Perth which is primarily staffed by formerly homeless men who are resident of The Salvation Army's Skinnergate Resettlement Unit. Social Referrals are accepted and discounts made according to need - see the website for full details. This is a self-funding project hence the need to sell items, but prices range from just £5 to £200. The warehouse is open to the public Monday to Saturday 10am to 3pm.

Notes

The Salvation Army is a Christian Church and a Registered Charity providing the greatest level of Social Care across the UK after the Government. The tag line for this particular project is "Re-Using Furniture - Re-Starting Lives" and that sums up what we are about. Yes we provide furniture but that is only half the story. We have helped countless people through work placements with us and assisted hundreds more through the low price provision of quality furniture.
