Wheelchair Woodturners and Woodworkers – Wishaw
Profile
This woodturning, woodworking organization and workshop is open to ALL but is targeted to provide a knowledge base for the disabled, wheelchair users and those less than able as well as the able bodied. Through our website and workshop we offer training and advice mainly to disabled and wheelchair users. Our organisation has been directly and indirectly involved in setting up workshops as far afield as the USA. We not only provide advice on equipment and the ways to set it up but also we have provided out first starter pack to a newly disabled woodworker near London. We are involved with Spinal Injuries Scotland and the Glasgow abilityfest and have made contact with Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living (GCIL)through the abilityfest. We are also a registered fundraiser for Marie Curie Glasgow Hospice. Wheelchairwoodturners organise and run a Monthly Craft Fair, the profits from this event go to Marie Curie.
