Notes

There are around 60 CVS throughout Scotland, located in both urban and rural areas. Their primary role is co-ordinating and supporting the work of the local voluntary /community sector. The range and variety of individual CVSs varies across the country, as is the range of services they provide. CVS is able to provide a range of support and services, both directly and indirectly, which assist social economy organisations and social enterprises. Some are more pro-active in this area than others. It is important to remember that each CVS is different and local circumstances and issues will dictate the role that CVS plays in its respective community.
