Notes

Lanarkshire Furniture Initiative is primarily a furniture recycling project that was formed initially as a pilot project in October 2000 due to demand created by our charity shop in Wishaw, called 'Compassionately Yours'. It is a member of the National Furniture Recycling Network. It was set up by Christian Outreach Centre Wishaw, a Lanarkshire Cell Church but it is now completely independent. The pilot was an overwhelming success, with community housing groups and social services seeking our assistance. Our aim is to collect a wide range of household items to pass onto people in need in Lanarkshire. Donations of furniture and white goods come from people who wish to lend a helping hand to those less fortunate than themselves, or who are environmentally concerned about discarding useful items to landfill sites. All donations are uplifted free of charge.
