Re-Union is turning the Union Canal, Edinburgh from a private secret into a public resource.
Re-Union provides a unique, affordable activity space for communities, organisations and businesses. Used for teambuilding, meetings, personal development and more, the boat is also a great venue for education about the environment and heritage of the canal corridor. Boat trips, while expanding horizons, are only the start of encouraging greater accessibility of the canal.
Providing volunteering opportunities and training for employment is the core of Re-Union activity behind trips on the boats. Through engaging local people Re-Union is turning the canal into a vibrant, thriving place, and is contributing to regeneration of disadvantaged communities along its length.
Organisations hiring the boat for their activities not only discover the potential of this beautiful feature of the local landscape. They support Re-Union in offering training, informal education and opportunities for local social investment, to release the potential of the canal for all.
