Notes
Drake Scotland creates music-making opportunities for people of all ages with disabilities. We use innovative adaptive technologies to provide access to music for those whose mobility or communication skills are limited or who have difficulty playing conventional musical instruments. We strive for the greatest degree of independence in music-making for each individual, and aim to create a level playing field so that those with and without disabilities can play together in ensemble projects.
We run an outreach Music Education programme in special schools across central Scotland in partnership with local authorities and individual schools. Some of the projects are integrated and involve children with disabilies working alongside their non-disabled peers to create music together. Community Music projects, currently in locations in Drumchapel, Fife and Edinburgh
