Through our work as a broker with other organisations or through programmes we are operating Firstport can help make links for you to others who will support you in developing your organisation or idea.



Find a mentor

Firstport currently works with Scottish Enterprise and the Scottish Chamber of Commerce to match mentors from the private sector to social enterprises in Lowland Scotland.  To be eligible organisations must have an income over £60,000.



Find social enterprise consultants, web designers etc

Many of the requests we receive through the personal response service are for contacts for other organisations that provide support services to social enterprise initiatives.  If you are looking for someone to work with you then we will endeavour to find someone who can help.  You can also use our online directory to find contacts.  Search by type to look up consultants, web designers etc.



Talk and meet with other practitioners

When developing a new idea there can be great value in talking to others.  This may be other individuals who have set up similar enterprises or other social entrepreneurs based in the same geographical area.  Firstport can help you find out who’s around, make introductions and may even be able to facilitate visits to similar initiatives.



Find board members

While we do not always have a large pool of people desperate to become board members we have helped individuals and organisations with this are occasionally sent CVs from people interested in getting more involved with social enterprise.
