Gavin Robertson - Flocklocal (Glasgow)
Flocklocal aims to match short-term volunteers with one-off local activities using an online social networking platform. It will help people do good in their local community, fast. The project will empower people who want to get things done to take ownership and address small issues that are of serious importance to them through volunteering. The tool can be used by individuals, charities, community centres, or just a group of people with a project idea. Flocklocal makes it easier for people to get involved and help make a difference in their community.
Flocklocal received £3,335 from the 4IP fund.
Kaye McAlpine - Scotland's For Families (Edinburgh)
Scotland's for Families will provide a dynamic, interactive online guide to Scotland for families with children from the very young up to 13 years. It will list where to go, what to see, what to do and help families make informed choices - hopefully saving them money and lessening the chance of family outings going wrong, while also holding venues etc to account. The online resource will operate on a 'Trip Advisor' basis - with information and comments fed into it by parents and carers and interested others - allowing the right to reply for venue managers.
Scotland's For Families received £3,855 from the 4IP fund
Juliet Robertson - Outdoor Apps (Aberdeenshire)
Juliet will develop a database and a series of apps which aim to get people, particularly children, outside more often. Apps will suggest activities that children and families/carers can share and Juliet anticipates that they will be used by education and other child related authorities.
Outdoor Apps has received £3,870 from the 4IP fund.
