This workshop will illustrate and explain the importance of cash to your social enterprise as a way to grow and survive.
Managing your cash flow allows you to narrow or completely close your cash flow gap. It does this by examining the different items that affect the cash flow of your business. Examining your cash inflows and outflows, and looking at the different components that have a direct effect on your cash flow, allows you to answer the following questions:
• How much cash does my business have?
• How much cash does my business need to operate and when is it needed?
• Where does my business get its cash and spend its cash?
• How do my income and expenses affect the amount of cash I need to expand my business?
If you can answer these questions, you're managing your cash flow!
The workshop will cover the main elements of preparing a cash flow forecast, including working with a cash flow template specifically tailored to the needs of a start up social enterprise. While many finance training courses focus on accounting, we have developed this introduction to cash course. For new starts it is cash now, not historical financial transactions that are important.
All the workshops are facilitated by one of Firstport’s business advisors, who will encourage you to ask questions and interact and network with other attendees!
These workshops are delivered and funded through the Just Enterprise contract.
