If shortlisted you will then be invited to a business planning day with a team of experts (12 November) and will then face a 'Dragon’s den' style panel at the Environment and Human Rights  conference  in Glasgow on 23 November.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to showcase your idea to some of the leading environmental organisations in Scotland and if you are the winner you will receive £5000 to take your initiative forwards.

Green MSP Patrick Harvie said:

"Great ideas often need a little helping hand at the beginning, and this competition will provide exactly that. Scotland has a strong tradition of social enterprises working on sustainability, but there's plenty of room for growth. Whoever wins this competition will get the best possible start for their business, and they will also be more than welcome to come into Parliament and discuss their ideas with me too."

Firstport has been appointed to distribute the Social Entrepreneurs Fund and provide business support to social entrepreneurs by the Scottish Government.
