Interested in our Evolve skill share days?

On the 29th August 2007 Firstport worked with Scottish Business in the Community (SBC)  to run the first of its Evolve skill share sessions with HBOS.



The event, which was held in Edinburgh, took HBOS graduate trainees working across the UK who then spend a day working with new start social entrepreneurs in helping to frame and develop their ideas. Graduates worked with entrepreneurs to develop business plans under the facilitation of The Training Tree and Firstport staff. Since then further days have been established where entrepreneurs are uniquely matched with the business skills on offer ensuring a high quality of learning for all those taking part.

The programme has been developed following this first successful day with SBC recruiting businessess interested in developing their skills and knowledge and Firstport finding entrepreneurs to benefit  from what some have termed "consultancy on speed"! Other quotes from attendees include:

"Blown away by whole experience" "Was great how the business managers personal experience and skills transferred from private sector business to the social enterprise sector" "Don’t have time to go to a lot of events and choose carefully but this was great"
