Judith’s background is in brand management at Lever Brothers Ltd, part of Unilever.

She has spent the last 16 years in the Third Sector using her marketing and sales skills to build successful corporate partnerships with companies as a corporate fundraiser and manager for charities including Save the Children, Capability Scotland (Scotland’s largest disability charity) and the National Galleries of Scotland.

Judith moved to Scotland in 1994 and set up an independent consultancy business in 2004 specialising in business development and income generation.

She became the UK Grants Advisor for Comic Relief in Scotland in 2005 and has also worked as an assessor and consultant to a number of grantmaking organisations which support social enterprise development including the Scottish Community Foundation, First Port/Scotland UnLtd and the Voluntary Action Fund.  Judith is an active member of a number of Scottish funders’ networks including Scottish Grantmaking Trusts Group, Scotland Funders’ Forum and the Scotland Funders’ Forum Frontline.  She chairs the Frontline Forum’s working group on outreach and pre-application support.

On a voluntary basis, Judith is a Director of her community’s recently established Development Trust and also Treasurer (and active back row grunter) of a local community folk choir Just Singin’.

She lives in rural Perthshire with her family and four chickens.  In her spare time she enjoys walking, cycling (OK, she’s less keen on hills) and growing vegetables.  Her most satisfying achievement of the year so far is persuading her local farm shop to allow her to trade her excess courgettes for their home-made ice cream.
