North Edinburgh Childcare which is run as a social enterprise was invited by Firstport to become a champion for its replication programme ‘Ditto’.
Thanks to the support of Resilient Scotland, the provider will be Ditto’s 10th model contributor and means that budding entrepreneurs thinking of starting a similar business will have access to a tried and tested business model.
Theresa Allison, Managing Director of North Edinburgh Childcare said: “The Ditto programme is a great way to influence community and social enterprise development.
“If we can help someone else make a success of their own business, then we will have contributed to continuing to make quality childcare affordable to parents in other communities.”
Karen McGregor, Chief Executive of Firstport said: “We are delighted that North Edinburgh Childcare has agreed to share the secrets of its business success. As a highly experienced childcare provider the business is a fantastic addition to the Ditto programme.”
“Most importantly, this model will provide others with the chance to start up a thriving childcare business and have a social impact in communities across Scotland.”
North Edinburgh Childcare has been delivering care and after-schools services to children and families in the city since 1997.
Ditto is supported by Resilient Scotland and anyone interested in using this or any of the Ditto models can visit the Ditto section on the Firstport website for more information.
