Professor Mark J. Biggs CEng FIChemE – Board Member
Professor Biggs has served as Associate Principal at Heriot-Watt University since April 2024. Previously, he served as Vice-Principal, Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
Mark is Associate Principal (International & Partnerships) at Heriot-Watt University. He is passionate about inspiring others and supporting them to realise their aspirations.
He has been an engineering academic and researcher since the mid-1990s and has held leadership roles in higher education nationally and internationally since 2010. He has contributed extensively to his professional community and the wider community, including serving as a non-executive director on various boards, such as the Nottingham Festival of Science and Curiosity, a charity he co-founded that took the marvels of science, technology, engineering and mathematics out into the community.
