Kirstie Penman – Head of Programmes
Kirstie is responsible for overseeing the delivery of Firstport’s awards programmes.
She works closely with our programme managers and our relationship management team who support applicants and awardees across the country.
Kirstie has many years of grant-making experience, and this informs her decision-making at panel level across Firstport’s awards programmes, as well as on a number of external funding panels.
She previously worked providing legal support to third sector organisations and still likes to help out when tricky questions come up – particularly around governance and constitutional issues.
As a founding director of two start-up third sector organisations, Kirstie has practical experience steering each of them through their initial development phases (including the first Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation). This means that Kirstie has a particular understanding of the challenges facing individuals setting out on this journey and is keen to use what she has learned to help them on their way.
