Firstport is Scotland’s agency for start-up social entrepreneurs. We are looking for a Relationship Manager to support the delivery of the Social Entrepreneurs Fund (SEF), a grant funding programme that helps individuals test, start, and build social enterprises. This new role has been created to strengthen our support for emerging social entrepreneurs in the North of Scotland.

About the Role

As a Relationship Manager, you will:

  • Be the primary point of contact for SEF applicants and awardees in the North of Scotland.
  • Guide individuals through the early stages of developing their social enterprise, providing support to help them build strong, fundable proposals.
  • Assess funding applications and contribute to funding panel recommendations using clear and fair decision-making processes.
  • Monitor the progress of awardees, helping them manage their funding and transition through the SEF award pipeline.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with local and national stakeholders, ensuring referral routes are clear and support networks are robust.
  • Raise awareness of Firstport’s programmes in the region and develop a strong understanding of the wider support ecosystem for social entrepreneurs.

About You

We’re looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, especially in face-to-face and community-based settings; is confident engaging with and supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, and understands local issues affecting communities in the North of Scotland. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and decision-making skills, with experience in assessing funding applications or similar processes and a passion for social enterprise and making a difference at the grassroots level.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and mission-driven team working to create a fairer, more inclusive Scotland through social entrepreneurship.
