Ray Banks – Social Entrepreneurs Fund Programme Manager
Ray works closely with the relationship management team to support both prospective applicants and successful awardees across Scotland.
He also helps to develop pipelines into our investment programmes.
Prior to joining Firstport, Ray worked in a variety of roles including a Scottish Government-funded post monitoring NHS consultant retention, and in Business Development for The Social Investment Business (formerly Futurebuilders England), where he provided the first point of contact for applicants and assessed grant and loan applications for funds totalling £400m.
As a firm believer in the social enterprise model as a direct competitor to traditional commercial business, Ray is most passionate about seeing pre-start ideas develop into investment-ready social enterprises.
